The International Gaming Standards Association (IGSA) is one of Sevens Consulting Group’s longest clients and I’m very happy to also currently serve as the association’s President. IGSA had a wonderful booth at this year’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E), held in early October in Las Vegas, Nevada. We had a terrific location and plenty of space to meet with current and potential Members.
It was my honor to welcome Representative Shawn Fluharty from West Virginia who currently also serves as the President of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS). Representative Fluharty gave a fantastic keynote address during IGSA’s Annual Meeting where he stressed the importance of strong collaboration between IGSA and NCLGS.
IGSA also was a co-sponsor of the Retail and Hospitality Information Sharing and Analysis Center (RH-ISAC) Gaming Workshop. This year, the workshop was formally a part of the G2E program. Many thanks are in order to Reed Exhibitions (RX) for making this event part of G2E, and to all the cyber resiliency professionals that attended the workshop.
Finally, I’d be remiss if I did not thank all of the Members that stopped by the booth. Gaming conferences are an opportunity to catch-up with old friends and a great way to make new ones. This year’s G2E was no exception. So thank you to all the folks that stopped by.
As in prior years, the conversations centered around illegal gaming, data reporting, and gaming monitoring. Very interesting conversations with regulators form New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This year there were the added topics of Cryptocurrencies and Prediction Markets. The former even more on point given the Bitcoin crash and the latter given the US Federal Government’s potential role in what is sure to be a bitter court battle. We’ll see where this all goes but we at Sevens Consulting are monitoring these events closely to see how they could influence other jurisdictions and what that could mean, positively or negatively, to our clients.
I will post further updates on all of these and other topics as interesting events transpire.
